Bud Coggins Tapped as CEO of The Rusty Bucket Kids Show

Apex, NC –January 19, 2010 – Bud Coggins joins RBKC, Inc. as Chief Executive Officer. RBKC, Inc. is currently located in New Hill, NC and is the production company for “The Rusty Bucket Kids Club” television/mobisode series. The family-oriented program is produced in Apex, New Hill and at the New Hope Valley Railway in Bonsal, North Carolina. The show is part of a new, unique business paradigm being unveiled in the Triangle area. The transitional media, or transmedia, distribution model uses the show to promote existing area businesses, as filming locations, while at the same time highly emphasizing the value of visibility for show sponsors and advertisers. Demonstrating the continued importance of new media web, and TV broadcast content to reach smart viewers.

Coggins brings a wealth of experience. His broadcast career began in 1964 as a Sales representative at WBTV in Charlotte. He went on to serve as the local Sales Manager and then General Sales Manager before leaving for Raleigh’s WRAL-TV in 1977. WRAL-TV hired Coggins to serve as General Sales Manager and after three years promoted him to Station Manager. He served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for WRAL-TV’s parent company, Capitol Broadcasting Company. In addition, Coggins took on duties as General Manager of WRAL-FM before leaving in 1984 to start his own entrepreneurial business, Coggins Sales and Marketing, Inc. “I am delighted that show creator and one of the Executive Producers John Demers brought me in to guide the business and operations of this enterprise,” says Coggins. “I’ve known John for a number of years and have always been impressed by the quality of his work. The next six to twelve months is going to be a great ride.”

“The Rusty Bucket Kids: Adventure of the Magic Glasses,” pilot episode, “Lincoln, Journey to 16” premiered in November at the Inaugural Peak City International Film Festival in Apex. Since then Coggins took over business operations while a new LLC is formed to oversee business interests involved with the new distribution model. Coggins will guide all elements of business growth and development while the company is expanding. While executive producers are creating broadcast/mobisode and DVD versions of the show, the business development unit will be rolling out its new approach to becoming a “Partner in Profit” with local TV broadcasters in a number of TV markets. The Rusty Bucket Band CDs are already being sold locally and DVDs will be available to area retailers by early March. Both can also be purchased at The Rusty Bucket store in historic downtown Apex, NC and online at TheRustyBucketKidsClub.com.
